At 11 am on Sunday 29th March in our Carmelite chapel there will be a special service for the Re-dedication of England to Our Lady. This will consist of readings, hymns, the rosary and other prayers leading up to the Angelus Promise and Act of Communal Entrustment at 12 noon, in union with numerous gatherings around the country.
As King Richard II once gave England as a gift to Our Lady for her guidance in 1381, so we, too, in 2020 will seek Mary’s protection and prayers anew, giving ourselves to her through this act of re-dedication. We also recall how our country received the title ‘Mary’s Dowry’, meaning that England was ‘set aside’ as a gift, a dowry, for Our Blessed Lady, to be under her guidance and protection.
